Cast Basalt Linings

CAST BASALT WEAR LININGS

Cast basalt wear linings are engineered solutions designed to protect industrial equipment from abrasion and corrosion. These linings are created by melting basalt rock and casting it into specific shapes, mostly cylinders, to be applied as protective linings in areas prone to wear and tear, such pipelines. They are known for their high durability and effective performance in industries like mining, cement, slurry, slag, and power generation.

Abrasion-resistant pipelines lined with cast basalt are most often used for the pneumatic transportation of powder and fine-grained substrates with the maximum speed of 22 m/s for basalt or for the hydraulic transportation of highly abrasive materials and sludge up to the speed of 2.2 m/s and maximum operating overpressure of 4 MPa. The lined tubes can also be used for tube chain conveyors, also for the transportation of hot substrates.

The cost-effectiveness of these linings becomes evident over time as it contributes to prolonged wear life, decreased operational disruptions, and minimized replacement expenses.
